E-max/Empress

E-max/Empress
There may be a need for restoration in the mouth for many different reasons. All functional and aesthetic expectations specific to the individual should be evaluated and the most compatible material and treatment option should be determined. Prosthetic restorations can be applied for reasons such as maintaining aesthetic expectations due to color differences in teeth, restoring the functional structure by eliminating tissue losses in teeth. With developing technologies, materials that are both aesthetically and functionally durable and very close to the natural tooth form can be produced. E-max dental veneers are materials produced in this way, very close to the natural tooth form and durable.
What are E-max/Empress Crowns?
E-max crowns are dental restoration materials produced from a special ceramic called lithium disilicate. Since high pressure and special reinforcement methods are used in their production, they are durable, have very good tissue compatibility, are aesthetic and have high light transmittance.
When can E-max/Empress Crowns be applied?
E-max restorations can be preferred in cases where aesthetic expectations are high but tissue loss due to decay or trauma is also high. They are often preferred to camouflage tooth color changes caused by consumption of colorful foods or different systemic problems with a natural appearance. When there are tolerable gaps between teeth, they can be used to close these gaps by changing tooth sizes and as an alternative to orthodontic treatment in small tooth crowding. They can be preferred to increase the amount of tissue resistance when weakness and tendency to fracture are detected in tooth tissues due to reasons such as root canal treatment.
What are the advantages of E-max/Empress Crowns?
E-max materials are frequently preferred due to their high light transmittance, providing an appearance very close to the natural tooth structure, reducing bacterial uptake with their smooth structure and easily polishable surface. Their tissue compatibility is very high and thus allows the treatment process to be carried out easily and in a short time. Thanks to digital face and smile design, e-max materials can be designed in a computer environment, color and form diversity can be predicted in a digital environment and technical sensitivity can be increased before the procedure. Thanks to its metal-free structure, it can be used safely in individuals with metal allergies. Each veneer can be worked on separately for each tooth and patient, and these sensitive follow-ups can be controlled and stored in a digital environment. Since it is a hard and durable material, it is also a preferred material for ceramic fillings used in tooth decay such as onlay-inlay. It has a more vivid and transparent structure compared to other restorations and does not cause a gray reflection problem. Since it can be worked with delicate and fine workmanship, it can easily show the thin gingival emergence profile compatible with the gum. Due to the durability of the special bonding materials that provide the connection with the teeth and the difference in the bonding structure, it can show appropriate integrity with the teeth for many years without dissolving.
In Which Situations Are E-max/Empress Crowns Not Preferred?
Although E-max materials are resistant, they may not be preferred in bridge prostheses with long tooth gaps due to their risky resistance to force imbalance. In cases where there are factors such as incompatibility or infection in the gums, it is preferred to first eliminate these problems in order to ensure correct tissue compatibility. In the presence of habits such as nail clenching or biting, which cause incorrect forces to be loaded onto the teeth as a result of incompatibility in the jaws, it is recommended to use different materials.
